Odell Park, Fredericton, NB
Odell Park is located downtown Fredericton and is a great way to experience old growth in an urban setting. Odell Park is filled with a wonderful combination of yellow birch, old white pine, basswood, hobblebush, hemlock trees and many more species. In the spring, the park is filled with a diverse variety of flowers and in the fall, colourful mushrooms. Odell Park is said to contain some of the oldest trees in New Brunswick.
The Odell Arboretum features all of the native trees that grow in the great forests of New Brunswick. The 2.8 km arboretum trail winds through the woods past 41 sites where individual tree species grow naturally and are identified by interpretive signs.
